No word on whether there will be an instruction manual for the 230i, but we think BMW reserves the right to choose its gear for the 2 Series. The BMW 2 Series Coupe 2022 will feature a more powerful 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder engine producing 255 bhp and 295 lb-ft of torque – seven more horsepower and 37 lb-ft of torque than the previous 230i – engine. The base model 230i gets a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers an additional 7 horsepower and 37 pounds of torque for a total of 255 and 295 pounds, respectively. All models will also receive a larger 3,0L BMW TwinPower Turbo in-line six-cylinder engine that develops 382 bhp at the same rev speed as the 230i and up to 369 lb-feet of torque between 1800 and 5,000 RPM.

This is a tuned version of the 3.0-liter in-line six-cylinder twin-turbocharged engine from the M3 and M4, and 365 bhp over the last M2 gives this model an advantage over the 416 bhp 4.5-litre Mercedes-Benz AMG. BMW says the new engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission with a good 0-60 km / h time of 5.5 seconds and a top speed of 130 to 155 km / h, depending on the trim level.

While BMW switched from the bumpy-looking 2 Series Gran Coupé with a transverse engine and front-wheel drive, the new BMW 2 Series Coupé continues to rely on a rear-drive platform. All models will be available with rear or all-wheel drive, and the only transmission option will be an eight-speed automatic with the outgoing 2-series featuring a six-speed manual transmission. A repeat of the predecessor, which is available with a manual transmission, is expected.

The proportions of the new 2-door series are more similar to a classic BMW than a modern car. The first impression of the new BMW 2 Series Coupé is more traditional BMW two-door than its larger siblings.

When the 2 Series arrives at dealerships later this year, the 230i will be delivered with a turbocharged 2.0-liter i-4 coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The absence of a manual transmission in BMW’s entry-level 2 Series Coupé and its high-performance variant the M240i deals a blow to enthusiasts who want to spin their gears. The second generation of the BMW 2 Series is equipped with an all-wheel-drive for the 230i and with a rear-wheel-drive for the M 240i xDrive models.

The model year 2022 will be blessed with a new generation of BMW 2 Series models, two of which will be featured with the launch of 230i and M240i xDrive. The new 2 Series is expected to be presented in November 2021 and cost $36,650 for the 230i coupe and $48,550 for the M 240i xDrive coupe. The BMW 2 Series will be available in November in dealerships with the rear-wheel-drive 230i and M240I xDrive Coupé, followed by the AWD 230i with xDrive and the RWD m240i.

The new BMW 2 Series Coupe 2022 offers more power and torque thanks to an eight-speed automatic sports car with launch control, rear-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive xDrive All-wheel Drive, and a revised chassis for extraordinary performance and driving experience unrivaled in the compact sports coupe segment. BMW says the powertrain is good enough to accelerate the 230i from zero to 100 km / h in 5.5 seconds.

This is followed by all-wheel-drive versions of the 255 hp base model 230i and the rear-wheel-drive coupé M240i. The new BMW xDrive model is 3.5 inches longer, 2.6 inches wide, 0.1 inches lower and 2.0 inches longer than the M 240i xDrive coupe it replaces. The M240I xDrive uses BMW’s Supercharged 3.0-liter in-line six-cylinder engine, which produces 382 horsepower and 369 pounds of torque, along with all-wheel drive and a BMW-controlled rear axle differential.

The base model 230i has a track width of 28 inches at the front and 19 inches at the rear, while the M240i xDrive measures 25 inches at the front and 24 inches at the rear. BMW has added a 2-inch wheelbase extension to the second generation of the BMW 2 Series for the new model year.

The front of the 2 Series retains the traditional horizontal look of BMW’s double-kidney grilles. While many other BMW models have switched to a more distinctive kidney grille, the BMW 2 Series still retains a proportionally large snout. The new performance-oriented BMW kidney grille is surrounded by BMW 230i Coupé by a chrome frame and a chrome frame on the BMW M240i XDrive Coupé by Cerium Grey.

Starting with the new coupé and the two-door four-door Gran Coupé, the new BMW 2 Series Coupé has a longer bonnet and a curvier roofline. Its headlights are also unique, with the two cars looking slightly different on both sides.
