The British automotive manufacturer Lotus revealed their first Lotus electric SUV, which is named Lotus Eletre. The Eletre is one of the most futuristic all-electric SUV and it will become up with performance-oriented and self-driving features.  

The Eletre will feature a 600hp high-performance electric power train and it’s an alternative to other electric SUVs like Ford Mustang Mach-E GT, BMW iX M60, Audi E-Tron S, and Tesla Model X.

The Lotus electric SUV Eletre is not a lifted sports car or rough off-roader, it’s a luxury SUV like Lamborghini Urus. Eletre’s sloping roofline with fin-like spoilers and giant (up to 23-inches) alloy wheels get a better sporty look. The Eletre’s scowling headlights, ultra-sharp bumper creases, and air vents give it an aggressive look.

The Lotus designed Eltre’s bodywork to reduce the drag by the airflow. It has airflow holes in the front bumper, bonnet, and behind the side of the front doors. Also, Eletre has more hidden aerodynamic features like a rear spoiler that unfolds at high speeds.

Lotus Eletre’s interior looks more futuristic and comfortable that’s why call it a super-luxury SUV. You feel it’s like a traditional car when looking at its center console. However, the New Lotus electric SUV is come up with a futuristic high-tech luxury interior infotainment system. It has a huge 15.1-inch landscape touchscreen in the front and two additional screens for the driver and another front passenger. Also, there is a touchscreen for rear-seat passengers.

Lotus Eletre performance

Like other high-performance electric SUVs, Eletre is powered by two electric motors (one motor connected to the front and the other to the rear wheels). Those motors can produce 600 horsepower and can reach 0-60mph in less than 3 seconds. Yes, Lotus electric SUV is quicker than Ford Mustang Mach-E GT but not would be quicker than Tesla Model X Plaid. However, Lotus will release a more powerful variant of the Eletre and that would be definitely compete with other electric SUVs. Also According to Lotus, Eletre’s top speed is about 160mph.

Lotus Eletre Batteries, Range, And Drive Features

The Lotus Eletre has a large 100kwh+ battery pack that can manage 348 miles of range.  That battery pack has an 800V electric charging system and the same voltage as Porsche Taycan. Therefore you can charge it by using a 350kW public fast charger and you can charge Eletre batteries from 10-80% in less than 20 minutes.

Lotus Eletre has four driving modes Range, Tour, Sport, and Off-Road.  Like Tesla Model X, those drive modes adjust the setting of the powertrain, steering, and height of the suspension according to each drive mode.

Also, there are many extra options offered with Lotus electric SUV to make the drive easier as rear-wheel steering and carbon-ceramic brakes. Active anti-roll bars also help to stop the car from leaning in tight corners. Eletre’s high-tech differential can properly transmit the power to the rear wheels.

Lotus Eletre Price And Release Date.

The new Lotus electric SUV Eletre will be available on market in 2023. The price ranges are still not announced, however, the Entry-level cars with dual motors 600hp setup will starting price is less than $135,000 (without tax).
