Wireless Charging Roads For EVs? Electric cars getting more popular day by day and Tesla Inc is dominating the EV market. Also, a lot of automotive manufacturing companies are turning to build fully electric vehicles. But, the time it takes to charge an electric vehicle is longer than fueling gasoline vehicles. Currently, Electric vehicle charging speed is based on battery and charging plant or charger technology and capacity.  However, those issues will disappear soon, and this news is about the world’s first wireless charging road.

Can you charge an electric car while driving? Yes. An Israeli company named Electreon start up a project to build one mile of pavement that will wirelessly charge electric vehicles while driving. This wireless charging road system project is set to begin in Michigan, near downtown Detroit from the U.S.

You already know that current mobile phones can be charged wirelessly. Just like that, The EV battery gets charged whenever electric car cruises along that pavement or stops on the road. Electreon said they use special coils embedded in road pavement that generate magnetic frequencies to the charging pad underneath the electric cars. This wireless charging road is not only for electric cars, this allows any electric vehicle including electric buses. Also, they said that coils do not react or are harmful to gasoline vehicles.

A part of the wireless charging road system will be ready for use in 2023. The U.S government does not officially say the cost of this project but the U.S transportation department is ready to contribute $1.9 million and Electreon will cover the rest of the project cost. Electreon Company already started to test this technology in Italy, Germany, and Sweden. Also, they signed a $9.4 million contract last year October to bring EV technology for electric buses in Tel Aviv.

A company like Electreon believes that electric vehicles currently charging method is inefficient and they have discovered more ways of charging electric vehicles without waiting or stopping the vehicle.

The Mercedes Benz will also launch an alternatively solar-powered electric car in 2023, it’s named Mercedes-Benz Vision EQXX.

Portable Electric Vehicle Charger?

The company named Sparkcharge from Massachusetts has already developed a portable electric charging vehicle with a charger attached under the trunk of that car and it can give a full charge to your electric car.

The Sparkcharge Company also has mobile EV charging services. If your electric car is uncharged? send your location to them, and one of their employees can come and charge your car.
